About

This site was originally set up for five guys who are/were part of a home-based Bible Study group in Minneapolis. We wanted to have a central place for various group dialogues and also to store information. The name of the blog consists of the first two letters of each of our last names, as shown here. As of August 2009, our group consisted of Dave, Paul, Mike, Rod, and Adam, four of whom contributed posts for our series on the book of Revelation.

We certainly don’t have a monopoly on the truth. However, we strive to maintain a love for the truth, which has been communicated to us in God’s Word, the Bible. Responsible comments and interaction from readers who might happen upon this blog are welcome.

January 2010 Update:

Our Bible study group has experienced a small amount of turnover since this blog was created in August 2009. Paul is no longer with us, although he remains a friend. We are now joined by Aby, a brother of Indian descent whose family comes from the state of Kerala, and another brother, Patrick. That makes six of us at this present time. The name of this blog is based on the last names of our group as it existed six months ago. However, it will remain the same, regardless of turnover and new faces.

We are nearly finished with our study of the book of Revelation. As we move on to study other books of the Bible and/or topical studies, we may or may not continue to post these studies on this site. However, several series of posts are in the planning stage, include the following: [1] An Analysis of Christian Zionism [2] An Analysis of the Modern System of Tithing.

In terms of organization, the easiest way to locate various series is through the pages shown left-to-right in the top bar. Current Page titles are: [1] Home [2] About [3] 70 AD Term Paper [4] Revelation [5] Fighter Verses [6] Adam’s Corner [7] Dave’s Corner. When a new series is added, a new page will be created, and all posts belonging to that series will be listed in order there.

August 2012 Update:

Two new authors have been added to this site, [1] my beautiful wife, Jasmine, and [2] my good friend, Mark Church, who presently lives in California and is a preterist in his eschatology, as I also am.

  1. Hi! I was so intrigued to come across this site and I hope you don’t mind if I peruse some of your archived posts. I love learning what others think about revelation and I embrace fulfilled redemption so I am sure that I will learn much and be blessed by your study.

If you guys are looking to find other teachings from around the world you can go to: AD70.net – a 24/7 broadcast or to the archived site: preteristradio.com and find tons of information.

Blessing to you guys…it is very encouraging to see you drawn together studying God’s word! W

    • Hi Wanda,

Thanks for stopping by, and for your feedback. Yes, do feel free to peruse any of the posts here, and to leave comments as well. It’s been a blessing to study the Word of God together with these guys.

Thanks also for your note about the AD70.net radio station. We’ll have to check that out. I also took a minute to check out your own website, and it looks to be quite resourceful.

      God bless you,
      Adam

  2. Love the sight. Just curious of what churches you all attend and even what denominations (even if you are non-denominational) each of you are most influenced by or related to?

    • Hi n8whit,

Thanks for stopping by. To answer your question, all of us have been or are connected to Bethlehem Baptist Church, which is pastored by John Piper. A couple of us have also been connected to an Evangelical Free church here in the Twin Cities. Personally, I grew up in a Pentecostal environment, but I have to admit that I hold on rather loosely to those roots at this time, and that my views on quite a number of matters have changed over the years. I still get along with my Pentecostal friends, though. :-)

  3. I am sorry to ask this here but you did not give a way to contact you privately. I would love to use your material in a book that I am writeing. I need your aproval to use it . George McInnis

    • Hi George,

Thanks for contacting me, and it’s fine that you posted your question here. I sent you an email at the address included in your comment, but I received a failure delivery notice. So I’m responding here.

Sure, you have my permission to use and reference the material I have on my blog. It sounds like you’re tackling a great subject. I’d be glad to hear more about the project as it takes shape.

  4. Adam, I dont know why the e-mail failed. If you can try again I would love to have your address for my record. And later I will tell you more about my undertaking that I have been working on for more than 20 years . The work you have written confirm’s many points that I need to express.

    Thank You again
    George McInnis

  5. Adam I am so looking forward to the Todd Bently posts and discussions, I watched for days the services and I knew ppl who traveled down there..I am looking forward to reading your opinion on all that happened! :)

    • Stephania,

Thanks. I didn’t realize you had watched the services in Lakeland. At some point I’ll be interested to know what you thought as well. I need to update this “About” page, as I’ve actually decided to put that series on the back burner. It’s still in my mind to do it, but I’m not sure how soon I’ll be able to. It will be quite an undertaking.

  6. Hi Adam! I have another question regarding Dan. 9:26-27. Rapture theory is the peace treaty signing, what is your take?
Also, I asked a while back about Romans 11:25 and never commented…I am still chewing and I may never stop chewing. Have you ever seen a movie called Ushpizin? I love it, I love the relationships and redemption and their relationship with God. It seems interesting to me that they are somehow connected or … You gotta watch if you haven’t!

  7. Do you believe the second coming is in the future or already happened? And what is a good link that you might have to read about that type of question. Thank you

  8. You’ve really done yeoman’s work here.

Is it to be published? Have you considered contacting dispensationalists such as Pat Robertson so as to offer an alternative interpretation.

Dispensationalists reminds me of the controversy surround the Kennedy assasination. Once the book “Case Closed” was published–it turned out that the case was pretty much closed. You have the ground work here to do the same for dispensationalism.

    • Hi Bill,

Thank you for stopping by, and for your kind comments. I have no idea how to contact Pat Robertson or someone as public as he is, but I admit that I have thought about publishing some of the material here, particularly the recent series on the Olivet Discourse (and related materials) and possibly the commentary on the book of Revelation (after tweaking certain posts). Is there anything here in particular that you believe is most conducive to publishing? God bless you.

      • This is my new devotional. I ‘m a 51 year old Preterist–last 4 years or so. So far this site is the best resource I’ve found. Any thoughts about a book or even on-line, live classes?

      • Bill, I’m glad to hear that you’ve found this site to be a great resource for you. I haven’t thought about hosting online classes, but I have thought about writing a book. So far I’m just in “the thinking stage” about that.

  9. Adam…..I just came aross your site here….very interesting….I look forward to reading more. I am a perterist (for the past 4 years). I am 55….live in Arkansas (DEEP Bible belt!!!) so preterism is hardly even heard of. Just curious….what does John Piper think about preterism? and, have you heard of David Curtis? David is my “on-line pastor” with Berean Bible Church in VA. He is an excellent teacher. We finished a 2 year study of Acts and are now a little over a year into Romans. I am anxious to read your Rev study. So glad to find “common ground” with like believers.

    • Hi Steve, thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. You’re welcome to share further feedback in the future as well. I’ve been through Arkansas before, while traveling between my hometown in Canton, Ohio and Dallas, Texas. Yes, I’m familiar with David Curtis, and I really like a number of things I’ve seen from him.

It’s hard to tell what John Piper thinks of preterism. He doesn’t seem to spend much time on eschatology. I do know that he once made a statement something to this effect: “It’s nearly impossible to overestimate the significance of what happened in 70 AD when the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed.” I don’t know that he has ever really unpacked that significance, though. Apparently he is a classic premillennialist. You might learn something of his views, or at least thinking on eschatology, if you have the time to watch a 2-hour eschatology forum that he moderated back in 2009. The video is embedded in this post:

      http://kloposmasm.com/2009/10/02/john-piper-hosts-an-evening-of-eschatology/

One of the participants, Doug Wilson, is a partial-preterist (and at the same time a post-millennialist).

  10. I’m not sure if there is a way to “message” you, but the following two articles, listed on the page “Christian Zionism” do not have a hotlink:
[11] John Hagee: A Wolf Seeking Many Sheep to Devour
[12] “Blood Brothers”: A Testimony from a Palestinian Christian

    thank you!

    • Hi Pam,

Thanks for stopping by, and for pointing that out. At this point, those are proposed posts that I haven’t completed yet. The “Blood Brothers” one will actually end up being a small series of posts. Once they’re written and posted, I’ll update the “Christian Zionism” page and make sure the hotlinks are there. All I need is for days to have 28 hours instead of 24 hours. :-)

      Thanks!

  11. Gentlemen,

Would you be interested in talking about John Laurence von Mosheim on your blog? If so, give me a shout.

    Thanks,
    Jon

    • Hi Jonathan. Thanks for stopping by. I have to admit that I’m not familiar with John Laurence von Mosheim. Looking him up just now, I see that he is known for publishing a work called, “An Ecclesiastical History, From The Birth of Christ to the Beginning of the Eighteenth Century: in which The Rise, Progress And Variation of Church Power Are Considered In Their Connection With the State Of Learning And Philosophy, and The Political History of Europe During that Period.”

Is there something in particular that you’d like to talk about concerning him?

  12. Found you blog (there are so many to choose from some good and some … ) Enjoyed your presenrtation on Revelation as much as I have read While I have been a dispensationalist most of my life I found that sometime one must adjust their thinking to coincide with what Scripture actually teaches. I am currently teaching on one of my blogs (Dr Denis says … Doc Notes -http://drcallahan.bravemusings.com) a reexamination of the Apocalypse base of the historical facts that 70 A.D. was the end as it were of the “present age” of the Jews and the begining of the “age to come”. If you have time stop by and check out my findings so far. I write a wee bit all along so am I in part 15 now. And if you do find something that doesn’t gell let me know.

    • Thanks, drdenis. I’m glad you enjoyed the series on Revelation. Indeed, we must always adjust our thinking, if necessary, to coincide with what Scripture actually teaches. Before my life is over, I’m sure I’ll have more adjusting to do.
